Sioux Valley Optimists Serving Youth for 44 Years

Sioux Valley Optimist Club serving youth for 44 years

Members of the Sioux Valley Optimist Club have been “Bringing Out the Best in Youth” for 44 years.  It seems that whenever there is a need to assist youth in the community, especially those who may be at risk, the Sioux Valley Optimists are ready to lend a helping hand.

Just in the past year, SVOC members personally engaged youth in more than 25 programs and projects at Children’s Home Society, Boys and Girls Club, Volunteers of America Youth Center, Fostering Hope,  Horace Mann School,  McCrossan Boys Ranch, Simon Says Give and supported programs such as local feeding programs, children’s cancer treatment and research, Character on Track, Ground Works, Sanford Children’s Hospital, Special Olympics and the Family Visitation Center.

SVOC members take pride in being a vibrant service club which works “hands on” with and for our local youth.  Our members contributed more than 500 volunteer hours and invested more than $15,000 in these programs that have positively impacted the lives of more than 8,000 children in the past year.

If you share our vision of “Bringing out the Best in Our Youth, in Our Community and in Ourselves”, please join us for lunch at the East Side Pizza Ranch on East 10th Street.  You’ll find us there each Monday noon.
